Empty Castles

As we visited the famous Neuschwanstein castle, we were told it’s mostly empty inside. Some are working for such a castle. Only with our “thumb up” to Jesus will we reach our heavenly castle that will be FULL of blessings beyond comprehension…joy, peace, contentment, community and love! This hope gives us strength and joy every day, and that’s better than an empty castle or even going to Disney World (where you can see a castle inspired by this one).

Community Witness

Yesterday we visited the Bavarian town of Oberammergau. This small community pledged almost 400 years ago to honor Jesus every 10 years with a Passion Play that praises what Jesus has done for us. I admire how this community works together to be such ongoing and bold witnesses. May we all do the same…TOGETHER!

Daddy Daughter Dreaming

My new dream “souvenir” from the BMW headquarters in Munich. You should see what Hannah chose. It’s fun to dream together. Reminds us to never underestimate what God has in store for all of us who love Him…probably NOT a car like this, but certainly the building up of MORE relationships in His Gospel way!

In Luther’s Shadow

A good way to start today…inspired by Martin Luther’s example made clear in Wittenberg.

St. Mary’s Church

Luther preached here in Wittenberg regularly. New pulpit since then, but same place. Could almost hear the echos of SCRIPTURE ALONE, FAITH ALONE, and GRACE ALONE!

Walking in Wittenberg

Our group walked down the street in Wittenberg past the home of Philip Melanchthon and to St. Mary’s church, where Luther preached over 2000 times.

Katie and MY Rib

On Mother’s Day in Wittenberg, I thanked God for an awesome wife and mother to our children. Like Luther, I am truly blessed by my dear wife. I love you, Heather!

Erfurt…Where Luther Entered the Monastery

Our group in front of houses on the bridge in old Erfurt yesterday. Beautiful city with awesome history. Luther kept his vow to enter the monastery here, beginning his path toward the “Reformation.”
